Granada, Spain

We live in a detached house (independent villa) located in Otura, a small and quiet town within the metropolitan area of Granada, Spain. Although Otura is a village, it is very well connected to the city: Granada city centre is about 20 minutes away by car, even on weekdays and during rush hour.

We also have a private parking space in the very centre of Granada, which we are happy to offer during the exchange, making it easy to move around and park in the city.

THE HOUSE

Our home is very spacious and extremely bright, with approximately 200 m² of interior space and a private garden of around 650–700 m², including a swimming pool and open views towards Sierra Nevada.

From the outside, the house has a traditional look, while the interior feels modern and design-oriented, with open, comfortable spaces made for everyday living.

We moved here relatively recently, so the house is still evolving and being fine-tuned, although it is fully functional, comfortable and welcoming.

INTERIOR SPACES

The house includes:
-Three bedrooms
-A very large living room
-A fully equipped kitchen
-A TV / cinema room
-A home office
-Three indoor bathrooms
(one with bathtub and shower, one with shower, and one guest-style bathroom)
-A pantry
-A separate laundry room, very practical for organising daily life

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, Thermomix, a breakfast bar and everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The house has central heating, air conditioning (essential in summer), a fireplace for winter, high-speed internet, television and all modern comforts.

Books are an important part of our home, and there are also musical instruments, including a piano and guitars.

The outdoor space is one of the highlights of the house:
-Large private garden

-Barbecue
-Pool House with bathroom
-Three terraces, one of them with wide open views, where you can enjoy sunsets with Granada in the distance

In good weather, we usually have breakfast and dinner on the terrace.
In winter, the fireplace and the views of the nearby mountains make the house especially cosy; in summer, life naturally moves outdoors, around the pool and garden.

THE SORROUNDINGS

Otura is a small town of about 6,000 inhabitants, very quiet, residential and peaceful, ideal for relaxing. Despite its size, it offers all basic services, and larger nearby towns are only 8–10 minutes away by car, with many additional options.
-20 minutes to Granada Airport
-30 minutes to the beach
-30 minutes to Sierra Nevada (mountains and ski resort)

The area is surrounded by nature, hiking trails and excellent restaurants.

EXCHANGE EXPERIENCE

We have been home exchanging since 2014 and have extensive experience. We always leave practical information and personal recommendations, and we are happy to help with any questions before or during the stay.

We are generally open to exchanges almost anywhere in the world. Occasionally we may take a little time to reply, as daily life with two young children can be busy, but we always respond.
