We are recently retired so are open to offers. We have relatives in London so are always looking for exchanges there. We are also open to longer exchanges. |

Our house is in a short valley, perfect for 30-60 minute walks. Sandy Beach is a very walkable distance of 2 miles down the hill. The closest grocery store is approx 4 miles away, in Hawaii Kai Shopping Center.
Our home is located 10 miles from downtown Honolulu, 2 miles from Sandy Beach, on the island of Oahu.

Our house is in a short valley, perfect for 30-60 minute walks. Sandy Beach is a very walkable distance of 2 miles down the hill. There is a golf course in our valley also. The closest grocery store is approx 4 miles away, in Hawaii Kai Shopping Center along with restaurants, a brew pub, movie theater, clothing stores, drug store, pretty much everything you might need.
The nearest bus stop is 1/2 mile. Three buses stop here, both taking you into Honolulu. The number 23 bus takes you into Kahala Mall, Waikiki, and Ala Moana Shopping Center. The express buses (80A, 82) will take you to the University of Hawaii or downtown Honolulu. The express bus will run early in the morning and in the afternoon only. The #23 will run essentially every hour.
There are many hiking trails on the island of Oahu, a trail we frequent is Makapuu Lighthouse (Ka iwi State Park), about 2 miles in length with an elevation gain. Great views at the top and you can see most of the northeast shore of the island of Oahu and the island of Molokai from this lookout.
A good beginner surfing spot is by Sea Life Park, one ridge over from our house, about 3 miles away. Sandy Beach is 2 miles from our house, a great spot to watch skilled surfers and body boarders. This is NOT a beginner surfing area but is a great beach.
I am a bit obsessive with guidebooks about Hawaii, you will find plenty of them in the bookcase in the living room, feel free to use them.

Hawaii is a great place for an active lifestyle, many places to camp, hike, and kayak. These photos are from Kauai (Kalalau Valley), Maui (Haleakala National Park), Oahu (Kualoa State Park), and Kauai. All of the main islands are easy to access by a short airplane trip, ranging from $100 to $160.
