Calgary Stampede, Rocky Mountains, and more!
Welcome to the sunniest city in Canada!
Our home is in a quiet, established neighbourhood in the south of Calgary. We have a lovely backyard with an apple tree, nankin cherry tree, raspberry bushes and vegetable garden. A beautiful path runs through the green space just a block away. We're very close to Fish Creek Park, one of the largest urban parks in Canada. We're just a 10 minute walk from the train, but you are also welcome to the use of our SUV, which seats five. Downtown Calgary is a 25 minute drive away.
If you would like to visit during the first two weeks of July, you'll be able to take in the world-famous Calgary Stampede, including dozens of rodeo events, evening shows, a midway, and all the pancakes you'll ever be able to eat!
The unbeatable year-round adventures of Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Jasper, and Kananaskis in the Rocky Mountains are just about an hour away -- and it's the most breathtaking drive you'll ever take. Or take a trip to the spectacular Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum and the Alberta Badlands, where you can look for dinosaur bones!
The amazing Calgary Zoo is definitely worth a visit, as is Heritage Park, which showcases the history of the West (and has an awesome turn-of-the-century amusement park!).
Besides our three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, we also have a queen sized Murphy bed in the basement (in the room that doubles as an art studio). (I don't have photos of the kids' rooms because, frankly, they are teenagers and their rooms are a mess. But each kids' room has a twin-sized bed in it.)
We also have a piano, guitar, record player, an extensive library, 3 bikes, a Peloton (with size 7 clip-in shoes, or you can bring your own) and plenty of games and toys for the kids. We do not have a television, but we do have a projector if you want to connect your laptop for a big screen experience.
This is the perfect home for the family who wants to enjoy the proximity of the mountains and all the city has to offer, while at the same time having a safe and quiet "home base" with plenty of shops and activities within walking distance. My teenagers are very neat and responsible and we will take care of your house as though it were our own. We are also willing to care for pets and/or plants in your home. We would love it if you would care for our gentle 11-year-old cat, Chaucer.
