Calgary Stampede, Rocky Mountains, and more!
Welcome to the sunniest city in Canada!
Our townhome is in a quiet, established neighbourhood and has a huge, well-treed shared greenspace behind the unit. We're just steps from the sprawling North Glenmore park and Calgary's extensive network of trails and pathways. It's a fabulous central location, just 10 minutes from the restaurants, theatres and entertainment venues of downtown, and even closer to Calgary's largest shopping mall. We are close to transit, but you are also welcome to the use of our car, which seats five.
If you would like to visit during the first two weeks of July, you'll be able to take in the world-famous Calgary Stampede, including dozens of rodeo events, evening shows, a midway, and all the pancakes you'll ever be able to eat.
The unbeatable year-round adventures of Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Jasper, and Kananaskis in the Rocky Mountains are just about an hour away -- and it's the most breathtaking drive you'll ever take. Or take a trip to the spectacular Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum and the Alberta Badlands, where you can look for dinosaur bones!
The amazing Calgary Zoo is definitely worth a visit, as is Heritage Park, which showcases the history of the West (and has an awesome turn-of-the-century amusement park!).
Besides our three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, we also have an office that could be used as a bedroom with a sleeping cot. We also have a piano, guitar, an extensive library, 3 bikes, a Peloton (with size 7 clip-in shoes, or you can bring your own) and plenty of games and toys for the kids. And the most important part -- wi-fi and an espresso machine! However, we do not have a television. Of course you can bring your laptop and watch Netflix - that's what we do!
This is the perfect home for the family who wants to enjoy the proximity of the mountains while also embracing all the city has to offer, while at the same time having a safe and quiet "home base" with plenty of activities within walking distance. My teenagers are very neat and we will take care of your house as though it were our own. We are also willing to care for pets and/or plants in your home. We would love it if you would care for our gentle cat Chaucer, but if you would prefer not to we can make other arrangements for him.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: YYC - Calgary International Airport - 30 km (about half an hour drive)
- Grocery, liquor, drug stores (2.2 km)
- Earl Grey Golf Course (3.2 km)
- Canoe and Rowing Clubs (3.4 km)
- Glenmore Reservoir (3.4 km)
- Elbow River (2.0 km)
- Weaselhead Flats (2.0 km)
In under ten minutes, you can be transported from the excitement of the city to the soothing sounds and sights of nature. Our neighbourhood (Lakeview) is only a few short minutes' walk from North Glenmore Park, an 84-hectare park that borders the beautiful Glenmore Reservoir. The park has a tennis court, pathways, playgrounds and many picnic areas. It's also home to the Calgary Canoe Club and the Calgary Rowing Club, and the Earl Grey Golf Club is right next to the park. From here you can run or bike on Calgary's 550 km of paved pathways that run throughout the city!
Our favourite local getaway is Weaselhead Flats, a 237 hectare natural environment park connected to North Glenmore Park (again, about a ten minute walk from our house). As the Elbow River flows into the Glenmore Reservoir it slows down, thus depositing sand and gravel creating a network of bars, channels and marsh areas. This type of habitat is called a delta and is host to a relatively unique array of plants and animals. Weaselhead Flats also contain one of the largest stands of coniferous forest in the city.
