Brownstone townhouse in the lovely Park Slope Neighborhood of Brooklyn
We have lived in our house for 28 years and raised our three (now adult) children here. It is 3 stories (plus a basement) tall, 5.5 meters wide and 14 meters deep, and sits in a row of identical brownstone homes built around 1890.
The ground floor has a very well-equipped eat-in kitchen, dining room and toilet. It opens onto the back yard, which is a garden including a gas grill (BBQ) and a table and chairs seating 8 people. We take many of our meals outside in good weather. The middle floor has a large living room, including a sofa that folds out into a queen sized bed, and a den ("family room") with desk and chair, a sofa, two comfortable chairs and a Samsung smart TV. There is also a full bathroom with a shower and a tub with air jets (whirlpool).
The top floor has two bedrooms with queen-size beds, and two very small bedrooms, one with a bunk bed (2 beds) and the other with a single bed. There is a bathroom with shower on the top floor.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: LGA, JFK - about 11-12 miles to each
Our home is in the middle of the affluent Park Slope neighborhood, which was built in the late 1800s and is known for its brownstone townhomes along pleasant, tree-shaded streets. Prospect Park, one of the most famous parks designed by Olmstead and Vaux, is a 10 minute walk from our house, and the world-class Brooklyn museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden are another 10 minutes beyond that. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is also nearby, with very rich and innovative cultural programming. There are many charming restaurants and shops within walking distance throughout the neighborhood. JJ Byrne Park, a few blocks from our house, has an excellent playground for younger children.
Downtown Manhattan (Wall Street, Battery Park, Chinatown) is a 30 minute trip by one of the several subway lines that serve our area. Times Square, Broadway theaters and Midtown are each about 15 minutes farther.
Park Slope is the safest area in Brooklyn, with the lowest crime rate in the borough.
