Contemporary condominium unit with view of the Alps and Lake Thun
After many years in Burgdorf and many successful house swaps, we moved 2022 to Thun into a beautiful, newly renovated condominium.
There are 5 condos in the house, our flat is on the top floor. Our balcony offers a marvellous view of the city of Thun, the lake and the Alps.
Upon entering, the corridor opens into an open, spacious living and dining room with TV, an open plan kitchen, a reading corner with library and a Swedish stove. The new and modern gourmet kitchen offers all the amenities of 2 ovens, (combined oven/micro oven and oven/steamer), fridge, wine fridge, dishwasher, induction hob, modern exhaust hood. We have real oak floorboards throughout the flat.
The condo has one bedroom with a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom with Italian shower, one bedroom with a kingsize boxspring bed, a small bathroom with toilet/shower and an office. In the basement there is a room with fitness equipment and TV. Washing machine and dryer are located on the ground floor. A garage is also available. The balcony invites you for a morning coffee or an aperitif with a magnificent view of the mountains
Please note that we do not exchange during July/August.

Our condo is located on the hillside with a view of the city and the mountains. The car-free city centre is only a 10-minute walk away. A bus station is about 100 m away. The SBB train station is about 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by bus. Direct trains run from the SBB station to Bern, Zurich, Basel and Interlaken, for example. Zermatt can also be reached in just under 2 hours by changing trains once.
Thun is known as the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. The city lies at the outflow of the river Aare from Lake Thun. Thun has about 45,000 inhabitants. The medieval Thun Castle has been a majestic symbol inextricably linked with the city of Thun since the 12th century. The four white towers on the castle hill are visible from afar. The view of the surrounding mountains, Lake Thun and the old town is worth a visit in itself.

La préparation de l'échange est très minutieuse et attentive aux besoins des hôtes. C'est un excellent échange et nous avons pris beaucoup de plaisir à randonner, découvrir des villes et musées, et tout cela particulièrement bien installés quand nous rentrions. La famille est très à l'écoute (même quand je ne parvenais pas à mettre en route une machine à lave!). Nous n'avons pas réussi à faire aussi bien qu'eux pour préparer notre maison ( nous avons des pistes de progrès) et pas sûr que nous soyons parvenus à rendre leur appartement aussi impeccable que nous l'avons trouvé. Merci à eux d'avoir permis cet extraordinaire partage.

We are in our mid-60s and retired. We enjoy all outdoor activities,cooking and a glass of good wine
We enjoy all outdoor activities, especially hiking, nordic walking and skiing. We love cooking and experiencing local cuisines. We love to have guests and enjoy an evening with friends and a glass of good wine!
We have been travelling a lot and have already made some very good experiences with simultaneous and non-simultaneous house exchanges with our former house in Burgdorf and now with our condo in Thun. It goes without saying that we will treat your home with the utmost respect, and vice versa.
Sometimes we travel with family or friends.
We are non-smokers. We expect our home exchangers to smoke outside only.
We are open to all offers, please contact us.
Since we are making our home available, we would like to be “rewarded” equally. Therefore, we do not normally exchange with second homes.
