Flat in the City of Vienna, Austria
Hello dear Intervac family!
We are a couple of two who would come without children, because all our children are adults now. we do not have pets at the moment.
We would like to give you some information about our flat. It is cozy, and tiny! The street is quiet and you do not hear cars or traffic noise. You will reach the City Center in about 15minutes by tram, you may also walk - it is not far away and a nice way by foot. The 18th district is one of the most beautiful district of Vienna with many old, noble houses, gardens and parks. You can reach the Vienna Volksoper by foot in 5 minutes. Tram stations are next to the house.
Vienna is "The Heart of Europe"! You can reach by car or train:
Salzburg, Munich, Praha, Brno, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Triest, Venice, Pula,..There is the Boat Terminal near "Schwedenplatz" for e.g. day trips to Bratislava.
We have a washing machine, a dish washer, TV(netflix), free wlan,...
If we have made an agreement, we will send you more detailed information concerning the way to our flat and some useful information for your stay.

About the neighborhood
Our flat is near the Operahouse "Volksoper". You may walk to the City Center (20 minutes) or go by tram. You do not need a car for visiting Vienna. There are special tickets for tourists for public transports. If you want to go swimming (Donauinsel U1, Alte Donau U2, public pools like Schafbergbad or Krapfenwaldbad) or hiking (Wiener Wald, Lainzer Tiergarten, Cobenzl, Kahlenberg,etc.) you can go by metro, train or bus.
If you also want to see Wachau, Salzburg, Kärnten, Budapest, Bratislava, Prag, Venedig,etc. or the lakes, mountains, etc. you can go by train or car.
Parking is expensive and difficult in the inner districts. (If you do not pay correctly for parking, there are fees about 35€).
If we swap cars, you are lucky, because we have a ticket for free parking in our district - it is on the car window screen. You have to pay in other districts.

Laccueil de la famille Focke fut très chaleureux, l'appartement très agréable en plein centre de Vienne, le 18ème arrondissement : un quartier très beau et vivant accessible grace aux trams... L'appartement est lumineux, fonctionnel , beau. Bref une semaine parfaite. Merci à la famille Focke.
We exchanged with a family of 4. There home was as described, comfortable and welllocate. It would be very suitable for families or couples who wanted easy access to Vienna.
We enjoyed our exchange with Irene & Franz. There was plenty of space for us and our family when they visited. We had easy access to services, shops and transport and enjoyed using the bikes to get around the local area. We also enjoyed the river swimming, which is something we can't do in our home town of Brisbane.
Irene and Franz were wonderful people to exchange with. Very friendly and everything was to a high standard. We were extremely happy.
