A nice house in the south-west of Holland, close to sea, lake and the countryside.
Welcome to our nice and comfortable house in a quiet environment.
Our house is situated along a dike.
Downstairs you will find the living and dining area and a big and fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and the bathroom. On the second floor is also a bedroom.
The washing machine and dryer are situated downstairs.
In Melissant we have a famous bakery which is well known on the island. For your daily shopping you have to go to Stellendam (6km) and Middelharnis (10) there are several supermarkets.
We also have a 18 holes golf course at 10 minutes walk.
Within a 10 minutes drive your are in Middelharnis or Ouddorp , where you will find many shops and restaurants. We live about 10 km from the sea.
Rotterdam or Middelburg are only 40 min by car. Grevelingen Lake is about 10 minutes by bike.
We live very close to the Zeeland area, with the world famous Oosterschelde weir.

We live in the village named Melissant, part of Goeree Overflakkee.
The area is agriculture and fishery based.
You will find silence as well as nice villages to see.
We live also near the beach and the dunes, where you can swim, walk and bike.
Interesting places to go:
Delft, Rotterdam, The Hague, Scheveningen, Dordrecht, Gouda, Middelburg, Oudorp, Zierikzee
All within a reasonable distance from our residence.

We met our exchange partners in person at their house at the beginning which is always good to do if possible. They made us feel very welcome in their lovely spacious home. A quiet rural location surrounded by fields, animals and of course water, which suited us. We had a wonderful stay there, a great ground floor layout which we were envious of, we felt very much at home from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. We enjoyed cooking and spending our evenings there, looking after Woody the cat, while they looked after our cat back in Cambridge. We cycled locally on the outstanding Dutch cycle paths to the surrounding villages and we were lucky in our timing as the island was hosting their three day annual art exhibitions, either in artist’s studios or in their own homes.
Your house, so comfortable, stylish and well equipped. The beautiful garden and the cosy lounge. We had a perfect cycling holiday, Yvonne's bike ideal, even with wind. We think the description matches the reality very well. Quiet village with bakery and shop in walking distance..
S rodinou byla skvělá komunikace. Také jsme se osobně setkali, byli velmi ochotní. Domov byl čistý a podle našich očekávání

We are with the two of us, and our cat Woody. We like biking, hiking, nice old small city's,
We live together in this lovely house with a big garden.
The house is situated along a dike of the small town we live in.
The sea is only 10 km from our house. We visit the dunes and the seaside mostly by bike.
Bigger cities are Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft or Middelburg the distance to these cities is 60, 40 km by car.
The island we live on has a lot of agriculture activities. But due to the availability of lots of water we have very good watersport facilities.
