Comfortable, sunny family home with nice garden close to the woods in Baarn
Whether you are looking for culture, nature or active holiday, our family home in Baarn gives you access to all that the Netherlands has to offer. Located in the centre of the Netherlands, it is very easy to travel by car or train.
About the house
We live in a nice 1950’s house in Baarn. Our home provides everything you need. We have 130m2 of space, divided by 4 bedrooms (2 double sized bedrooms (one is in the attic) and 2 rooms for kids), a livingroom with a comfortable couch to watch tv, a record player and LOTS of records, and toys, games en books for kids, kitchen and a spacious bathroom. We have a beautiful garden, where the backyard is over 150m2 faced south. A wooden cabin is built for the kids and garden home with fireplace for the adults. In our garage you can find supplies for the (kitchen)garden, bikes and games/pools for the kids.
Parking availability
We have our own driveway, which has enough space for 2 cars.
About the neighborhood & area
The house is in the quiet neighborhood called the Componistenwijk, in the northern part of Baarn. The forest surrounding Baarn are famous for their mountainbike tracks! Spots like Castle Groeneveld and farm shop Ravenstein are within walking distance. Located in the middle of our country, it's a great base to discover cities like Amsterdam (25min), Utrecht (20min) or Amersfoort (10min) or look up nature, like the Veluwe.
Culture
Some great places to visit nearby are: Castle Groeneveld (5 min walk), Palace Soestdijk (10 min by bike). National Military Museum in Soesterberg (20 min by car). The nearby village Laren has the beautiful art museum Singer (10 min by car).
Amsterdam (25 min. by car, 40 min by train) has a rich history and has one of the highest density of museums in the world. On the Museum Square you can find the Rijksmuseum (e.g. Rembrandts Nightwatch), the Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum are based. Also NEMO Science Museum, Hortus Botanicus, the Hermitage, Tropenmuseum and the Jewish Historical Museum are worth a visit. Furthermore you have Utrecht (the fourth largest city in the Netherlands), historical Amersfoort and Hilversum (Dutch Media city) nearby.
Food & Drinks
Baarn has some nice restaurants within a 10 min bike ride. Tutto Pepe (3 min. walk) is a nice Italian restaurant with great pizza and cocktails. Eemlust is on located on the other side of Baarn, next to the river Eem. Great food, great atmosphere. One of our favorite spots to visit is 'Buiten in de kuil', a great restaurant in the middle of the forest between Baarn and Lage Vuursche. Great lunch and sometimes dinner directly from the open fire on the terrace overlooking the forest. Boerderij Ravenstein (10 min walk) has a great coffee shop and store. In the spring/summer you can get an ice cream there or pik flowers in the 'pluktuin' (picking garden). There are some cute animals - like donkey Charlotte - to visit as well! Looking for a simple but good lunch of afternoon drinks near the woods? Visit the Generaal.
Shopping
Baarn has a nice shopping street and of course various supermarkets. We will leave you some suggestions that you can visit.

About Our Family
About us
Hi! We are a family of four: Maarten (38), Kimberly (35), Otis (born April 2019) and Abel (born August 2022). Maarten is a transformation manager and Kimberly is a marketeer and programmanager at Madaga, a scale up that is on a mission to let young children eat healthy and have fun while doing so.
We live in a comfortable home in Baarn, just a 5 minute walk from the woods. We used to live in the city, but wanted to move to a place closer to nature when we became parents. So now we enjoy our garden and the woods that surround our town! Luckily, cities as Utrecht, Amsterdam and Amersfoort are not far away, if we're in the mood for a more buzzing vibe.
We love culture & art, food & drinks and enjoy long walks. We also love to travel. We travelled via Intervac a couple of times and enjoyed it every time. For us it's an adventurous way to discover new places and show our two boys what the world has to offer! Please contact us when you have any questions or if you'd like to make an exchange suggestion!

Thank you so much !
