Cosy wooden house in the french part of Switzerland (Fribourg)
Wir (Mutter, drei Kinder, Grosseltern und Hund) leben in zwei aneinandergebauten Hausteilen mit gemeinsamem Garten. Mutter und Kinder wohnen in 2-stöckigem Haus (Haus A) mit grosszügigem Wohn- und Essbereich, Bürozimmer und im Sommer 2024 frisch renovierter Küche im EG, 3 Schlafzimmer und 1 Badezimmer im 1. OG, einem Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer im 1. UG. Die Grosseltern wohnen im angrenzenden Hausteil (Haus B) (2020 angebaut), mit Küche, Badezimmer und Wohn-Essbereich im EG, Schlafzimmer, Galerie, Bürozimmer und Badezimmer im 1. OG. Beide Küchen verfügen über Ofen, Steamer, Geschirrspülmaschine, Kaffeemaschine. Beide Häuserteile verfügen über einen Waschmaschine und Tumbler.
Weiter hat es eine Terrasse, einen Gartensitzplatz, Grill, Liegestühle, einen Apfelbaum, Naturhecke, Rosen, diverse Kräuter zum Pflücken und damit kochen...
House A: Cosy wooden house with a little garden and terrace (renovated in 1990, and in 2020). It is a two -storey house, attached to another house (grand-parents living next door). The house has its own terrace and its own garden (with roses, kitchen herbs, apple-tree, table tennis and slack-line.
On the ground-floor there is the kitchen, the dining room, the living room and one small bedroom. On the upper floor there are three more bedrooms and one bathroom. In the basement there is an additional bathroom, a spare room (usually used by the children for playing, crafting) and the laundry room.
The house is located in a residential neighbourhood close to the city-centre (15 minutes walking distance, 5 minutes by bus/car). Different facilities such as grocery stores, pharmacy, hairdresser, bakery are in walking distance.
House B: grandparents house. Wooden house built in 2020 (two storey house). Ground floor: kitchen, dining room / living room, bathroom. Upper floor: 1 bedroom, 1 living rom, 1 bathroom.
House A and B share one garden, with a fence (secure playing for small children). Parking spot for two cars.
Our home is a perfect place to combine culture, nature and history (french immersion included, as two-third of the population speak french). Fribourg is a historic city founded in 1157. Visit the cathedral, the fortifications of the city, the museums, take a ride on the famous Funicular down to the oldest part of the town to go swimming in the Motta, the first open-air swimming baths in Switzerland.
For nature experience, discover the region on one of the many hiking tours. Don't miss to visit one of the many cheese manufactures where they produce the Gruyère, participate in a chocolate workshop in Fribourg and become an artisan chocolatier making your own truffles.
As Switzerland has a very good public transport system, almost every place is reachable within reasonable time by train / bus. Go on a day-trip to Lucerne and visit the "Glacier garden", visit the swiss open-air museum "Ballenberg" in Brienz, go on a hike in the alps and admire the glaciers...

Wir wohnen in Fussdistanz zum Stadtzentrum, Geschäfte für den täglichen Bedarf befinden sich im Quartier, die Busstation liegt in 3 Minuten Fussdistans von zu Hause.
Fribourg ist ein eine kleine historische Universitäts-Stadt mit Altstadt, Kathedrale, neuerem Stadtzentrum. Fribourg liegt an der Sprachgrenze deutsch / französisch, der Alltag ist allerdings französisch geprägt. Es sind wunderschöne Ausflüge in die nahen Voralpen möglich, Baden in Seen (Murtensee, Neuenburgersee...).

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Stäbelow genossen, das Dorf ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an die nahe gelegene Ostsee, Wanderungen in der Natur (Bsp. Wanderung im Gespensterwald in Nienhagen), Kanufahrten im Naturpark etc. . Auch Ausflüge in die Städte Wismar und Stralsund haben uns fasziniert und sind absolut empfehlenswert. Bei schönem Wetter kann man sich im grossen, gepflegten Garten erholen. Bei Regenwetter hat es im Haus ein ausgezeichnetes Multimedia-Angebot, aber auch Gesellschaftsspiele für Gross und Klein, oder auch Tischtennis in der Garage.
Fribourg is a university city with a beautiful medieval city center, a river, and many impressive bridges. We spent a lot of time walking through the city center and the surrounding area. The house was described correctly and all agreements were met. The communication was very pleasant, quick, and always helpful. We had a very nice and relaxing vacation. An all-around successful vacation. Thank you.

House A: We are a familiy of four living in house A (mother 44 years old, three children, 12, 14, 16 years old), and the dog (2 years old). I am working as a geographer in urban planning, the children attend primary and secondary school. We all love music, my son and I playing the flute, one of the daughters playing cello. We read a lot, so we go regularly to the local bibliothèque. In the summer time we do a lot of hiking tours in the mountains.
House B: the grandparents (grandmother 70 vears, grandfather 72 years) and Sirius the cat are also part of the familiy. Both houses are attached to each other, we share the garden.
Holiday plans: we plan to travel all together: grandparents, mother, three children (12, 14, and 16 years). Our dog will be away in petcare during the exchange .
Sirius the cat will stay at home. He loves to spend the nights outdoor and relax during the day.
