Flat with roof terrace in the centre of Lucerne, close to the lake and the mountains
Our family flat is located in the centre of Lucerne, within walking distance of the historic old town and the nearby recreational areas by the lake or in the surrounding forests. The duplex flat is located on the 6th floor under the roof, has 3 bedrooms (1 master bedroom, 2 children's rooms with queen-size beds), a large living (2 sleep couches) and dining room with adjoining kitchen as well as 1 bathroom and 1 separate toilet. The large rooftop terrace with a view over the old town invites you to linger in summer. When the windows (only on one side of the flat) are open, you can hear the trains passing by. Please note that there is no car park for the flat. The railway station is within walking distance. Lucerne is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Alps or other Swiss cities. We are happy to share our favourite places with you!

Our apartment is located in a residential area on the edge of Lucerne's new town. The main train station, the lake and the old town are all within walking distance. There are various grocery stores, bakeries, cafés and restaurants in the area. There are good train and bus connections within Lucerne, and bicycles are also available on request. Public long-term parking spaces are expansive. However, there are solutions for guests for a fee. We will organise this for you if you need a solution!

Curious about hidden gems that can be reached by public transport
We are Simone (46), Rayk (50), Tilda (15) and Hannes (13). We live in beautiful Lucerne. In our free time we are active in sports (hiking, jogging, fitness, stand-up paddle and tennis) and therefore really appreciate the proximity to the lake and mountains that Lucerne offers. Sometimes we attend theatre and opera performances and visit an exhibition. Because Lucerne is so close to Zurich, Bern and Basel, we also like to spend time in these cities.
We also love music, cooking and board games. The children are still at school, so we rely on the school holidays for the house swap. Rayk has a degree in philosophy and works as a counsellor and comedian, Simone works for an institute for young children. Our family includes two gerbils called Filly and Eos who need to be provided with food and water while we are away.
We have had our first exchange experiences and are thrilled and would definitely like to continue this form of travelling!
