House in La Rochelle
Hi !
We are a couple (Adrien is an urbanist and Clara an architect) with three children (a 11 year old girl, 8 year old boy and a 5 year old boy). We love travelling and discovering new countries and cities (both of us work in the field of town planning and renewable energies).
After more than 13 years in Bordeaux, we have decided to moved to beautiful La Rochelle this 2024 year. It is a great place to enjoy family life, close to all exciting places of the city (park, beach, restaurants, port, museum..), and our home is very pleasant to live to the everyday life! It is situated in a residential area. In the neighbourhood you can find all services and convenience stores (bakery, supermarket), and downtown is nearby by bike.
Our house is 128 sqm - with a lightfull living room open to a nice dining room open on the garden - 4 bedrooms - a garage with bikes.
We have a cat called Milo, he’s very friendly and love playing !

We live in a residentiel area in the downtown. It's a vibrant neighbourhood with all services and public transportation. 10 minutes walk or 5 min bike there is a great park with playgrounds and animals, the port and the docks are down on our street, the market place just 2 min walk, little shops close in the old town, many good restaurants and bars.
There's a lot of things to do and to discover around the city and nearby : you can go sailing, enjoy the beaches and little villages in the islands (Ile de Ré, ile d'Aix), visit historical places, the fort Boyard, marsh natural park (swamps " marais Poitevin" (50 min drive), listen music at the Francofolies festival in july... 2 hours by train from Nantes and 2h30 from Paris or Bordeaux.

I can highly recommend an exchange with this family. The appartment was super nice and very well located centrally in la Rochelle. We had very good communication during the exchange with fast replies to any questions.

Lovely home exchange. House is as described on their intervac site and lots of notes were left to help us to get the best from the neighbourhood and surrounding area. Communication with the family was fantastic, we set up a what’s app group so that we could get in touch quickly to ask questions and get advice. When we returned to our home we found it clean and as we had left it. Beds had been stripped as we had requested. We had a lovely holiday in a beautiful area where we were made to feel very welcomed.
De très bons contacts avec la famille, une maison magnifique bien décorée et équipée, une ville et région sympathique !

We are a family of five. Clara is both french and brazilian, she's an architect working in urban design and Adrien is an engineer urban planner. We have three young children, 1 girl and two boys - Zoé (11), Elie (8) and Paul (5). We are very respectful of others' homes and possessions, and we pay attention our children keep calm and careful. We've now done more than 10 swaps - in London, the Nederlands, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Belgium, Berlin,... We love to discover new places, as we work both in the field of the town planning and renewable energies, we enjoy a lot museum, landscapes, new horizons ;)!
