House in Pegnitz, Germany
We are living in a small village called Bodendorf in the area of Franconian Swiss, Bavaria/ Germany.
We have a big garden with a terrace at the main house with plenty of sitting-places where you can dine outside in summer. Next the main house is a little shed with a winter garden.
There is a piano in our living room, feel free to use it.
The Children are living in other towns.
Our place has much to offer for kids, there is a small playground 100 meters away from our house, many kids around and there are still some toys left from our daughters.
All together there are 4 bedrooms in the house with one bathroom on the top floor an a guest toilet on the ground floor.
The area is famous for the Wagner-Festspiele in Bayreuth and all the medieval towns and cities (e.g. Bamberg, Nürnberg, Pottenstein, Gößweinstein, etc.). The hilly and rocky area offers a lot for outdoor activities, like climbing, hiking, canoeing (https://www.fraenkische-schweiz.com/de/).
The area is very famous for its many little breweries and its very good beer which you can get in all the little restaurants and beergardens around.
In the neighbour village you can find a bakery and butcher, the next town with supermarkets is Pegnitz. The next big cities are Bayreuth, Nürnberg, Bamberg, Ingolstadt, München (Munich), Prague etc.. The Autobahn A9 (approx. 5 min distance) gives you the opportunity to travel very fast around. By car you will need about 10 min to Pegnitz, 20 min to Bayreuth, 50 min to Nürnberg, 60 min to Bamberg, 1,5 h to Ingolstadt, 2 h to München and 3,5 h to Prague. Travelling by public transport might be a bit difficult, the next train station is Pegnitz and the next airport is Nürnberg.
It is possible for us to exchange cars, we have a Opel Crossland and Skoda Fabia.
Our daughter, her husband and our two grand children might be coming with us. You could either stay in their apartment in Hamburg (https://de.intervac-homeexchange.com/listings/46961) or use our house. Or even visit both in case you want to see north and south of Germany.
