Comfortable, cosy apartment, in the heart of East Berlin (Mitte)
The quiet apartment is in the fourth floor of a tower building with a nice view facing the Radio Tower Berlin (Berliner Fernsehturm) that is used by our family, not for renting out and available most of the year.
** We offer also another place in Wolfenbüttel for six to seven people in Northern Germany (state of Lower Saxony) not far from the mountain area Harz. The town is best known as the location of the internationally renowned Herzog August Library and for having the largest concentration of timber-framed buildings in Germany. **
Our Berlin apartment (~ 50 spm.) is in good condition (renovated in 2018, 2024) and consist of a corridor with wardrobe and build in cupboards a living room with dining table for four, a sleeping couch and a separate and full equipped kitchen and bath including a tub which is nice especially after a long day exploring the city. This apartment is our second place if we are in Berlin. Parking is nearby and free (1 min.). We also offer two bikes placed in the basement with locks. Maximum occupancy is two people two people but we offer two mattresses stored in the basement e.g. for kids if needed. Elevator available.

About the neighborhood
In the middle of Berlin (Berlin Mitte). Located next to the Alexanderplatz with the metro and S-Bahn closely by and nearby shopping facilities (Alexa mall). You can even see the TV tower, Berlin's renowned landmark, right from the window.
Neighbourhood
Just five min. from the heard of east Berlin (Alexanderplatz) and the historical part 'Unter den Linden' the 'Brandenburg Gate' and dozens of other historical places are in walking distance (15-30 min.). Other districts like Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg are around Berlin Mitte and could be explored by bike or you just by walking.
The river Spree is close by and directs you through the city. To buy some food and every day supplies there is a grocery store outside the building including a bakery. The 'Cafe Moskau' a cinema (Kino International), a huge shopping mall (Alexa), the 'Sage club' and a beach club are two minutes away. The subway station 'Jannowitzbrücke' is right across the street and the main train stations are only 3-15 min. away (by subway). Berlin is a great place to visit and has everything to offer from history, art to international food and huge parks to relax.

Marie and Ingvar are exceptional exchange partners. Their house was perfect for our needs. We could easily visit Stockholm via ferry or have a walk with our stroller in the nearby forest. The house is lovely situated overviewing the waterway towards Stockholm. The cosy interior of the house makes it easy to spent also time inside.

We have done many exchanges (over 20) to all different places in Europe including Paris (four times), Courchevel, several trips to Amsterdam, Cabris near Cannes, Rome and Spain (Denia, Cadaqués) and Bali.
We believe exchanging homes is a great way of taking a vacation and get a different view of other countries.
