A characteristic centrally located family home (10 minutes from the beach)
Welcome to Alkmaar! We offer you our familyhome for a great vacation!
The city centre in 5 minutes by foot, windmills, tulip fields, the beach 10 minutes by car (Bergen aan zee, Hargen and Egmond aan Zee) and 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam. We live a 8 minute walk from Alkmaar trainstation. 40 minutes to Haarlem and in an hour to Texel or Utrecht.
Our house (4 bedrooms, living room, bathroom, kitchen, cozy garden) is within walking distance from the center of Alkmaar. It is a comfortably furnished house and has much to offer in the wider area. The beach (10 minutes by car, 25 minutes by bike) is located after undulating dunes and beautiful forests. In April and May you can enjoy the many tulip fields in the area. There are also many activities for children in the area. Close to our house is the center of Alkmaar with all its conveniences.
In and around the house we have many toys for children to play with. Our house is very child friendly. We have Netflix, Disney+ and many family games to play with. There is a bbq in the garden.
The old center of Alkmaar (famous for its cheese and also known as “little Amsterdam”) is walking distance. Alkmaar has beautiful canals (rent a boat or a canoe!), the Cheese Market, and many places to go for a drink. We have several bikes for you: a cargo bike, and a normal bike with 2 child seats.

About Our Family
We are Quinten, Marleen, Veerle (2020) & Maya (2022).
And we are looking for a sustainable way to show our daughters beautiful places in the world. We love coziness, both the liveliness of the city, but always look for the tranquility of nature. That combination can be found in our house and that is what we also look for in a vacation home, although on vacation we still prefer to look for nature. We love walking together, extensive cooking, visiting towns, the mountains and just being together.
Marleen has a lot of experience with horses (had her own horses) so places where horses have to be taken care of is definitely an option for us. The only condition is, that the horses can walk freely outside and are not in stables :).
We are non-smokers.
We prefer exchanges with families with children.
