Cosy House close to historical city center in ROUEN, Normandy : culture and history, 90 mn from Paris D Days beaches 1 hour
Dear Intervac friends ,
We live in ROUEN, Normandy, only 150 km North West from Paris (70 mn by train , 90 mn by car ) and East from DDay beaches ( 1h drive) .
Normandy is the area where famous french writers lived and famous painters such as Monet and others painted beautiful landscapes in Giverny , Etretat , Le Havre ...
So what about a swap in Normandy , so many things to do, so many beautiful landscapes to discover, either in summer or in other season ?
Welcome in a comfortable and big city house !
Our semi detached house ( typical 19 cty house ,built in1898 ) is located in a quiet area very near the historical town center .You can hear birds singing and bells ringing as if you were in a village ! Rouen was named "100 church towers town" by V.Hugo .
The house is about 240sqm with 3 floors . Old house from 1880 has been modernised in an elegant and designed modern house. Perfect location to discover city center and Normandy ;

Paris for the whole day or more , by train ( our house is 10 mn walk from the station ) or by car (motorway 1 h drive)
Caen Memorial of world war II D Day beaches( 1 hour drive ) ,
Giverny and Monet's famous house and garden ( 40mn drive)
Deauville famous sand beach ( 1 hour motorway), Mont Saint Michel( 3 h )
Etretat , Veules les Roses ,Dieppe , Le Havre and other beautiful cliff beaches of the nearest coast ( less than 1 hour drive),
And also London is not far ( possible to go there in 3 h within a day : with Eurostar ( 1 h train to ST Pancrace station ) from Calais which is 2 h from home by motorway
and don't forget for your kids Eurodisney Marne la Vallée ( 1 h30)
Normandy is the perfect place for your family : a comfortable house near the heart of the historical city , less than 1 h drive from the seaside or from Paris : your next destination ?

Active and newly retired couple
We are newly retired and free (again) to discover other countries, new people, other ways of life in your country for example. We love nature, cooking, culture and are very fond of Intervac since our first swap with our children 20 years ago ! As we feel ecology concerned we are now trying to travel without plane .
We may ask for travelling with some of our adult children ( young adult couples) or close relatives (sister) or best friends.
We are very fond of travelling with Intervac , a great family experience discovered 20 years ago and a perfect way to discover other countries and cultures and to keep openminded.
We had a lot of previous (and successful ) exchanges between 2004 and 2017, then we had a long stop in exchanges due to grandchildren exploring our seaside house :) and for us taking care of our old parents.
In 2024 we came back to Intervac with great pleasure, ready to successful swaps as we experienced in the past years.
We'll take care of your home as if it were ours and make you fell comfortable to discover the french way of life.
Our main home should preferably be swapped with "experienced cat sitter" :) or cat lovers (since our cat is deaf due to an accident but very quiet and easy )
Non simultaneous exchanges are possible in our seaside home.
We are concerned with an ecological way of life, discovering other people and culture, meeting friends, discovering good food and restaurants, museums and historical places, peaceful way of life, nice surroundings to walk around and rest.
