Explore the Wild Atlantic Way - open to offers - prefer sea and cities - we don't do pet care...

Our home is a 3 bedroom 2-storey house in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of Galway City. The kitchen, dining room and living rooms are interconnected, bright and warm.  There is a separate area for laundry, downstairs wc and a large storage area in the garden.

Originally there were 4 bedrooms butwe use one as a study and converted another into a dressing room. The master bedroom has a king size bed, an en-suite shower room and a separate dressing room. The other main room also has a king size bed and there is a large family bathroom with an electric shower (no bath) and a hot press (airing cupboard).

You will find all the usual domestic appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, steamer, slow cooker etc.  In addition we are well served with television channels (over 100) and there is a good supply of English language DVDs, books and board games, and music CDs of all kinds.

The house is heated by oil-fired radiators and there is also a wood-burning stove in the living room.

There is ample room for parking to the front of the house and the back garden has a covered paved area off the dining room to sit and eat whether the weather is good or not.  You will find a barbecue, heater and furniture in the storage area.

Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Our house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Galway, a lively university town with theatres, cinemas, pubs, restaurants, swimming pools, shops, everything you need! Within walking distance you will find a beach, a leisure centre and sailing club.  There are some quiet lanes where you can walk or cycle too. A little further along are Merlin Woods and you can take a bus to the city centre and access everything Galway City has to offer and indeed the Wild Atlantic Way.

At Liam Mellows football club down at the beach, it is possible to book a Gaelic Games Experience. It’s about the GAA and Irish football but I think also includes some cultural items. They include some games and fun – you can sometimes see people playing in plastic bubbles up there. Not sure how it works but here’s a link:

· Wildlands is an indoor and outdoor adventure and activity centre in Moycullen in County Galway - www.wildlands.ie

· You can pan for gold at the Glengowla mines! It’s in Oughterard, the next village along after Moycullen.

Tish et Eugène ont eu des changements de planning et malgré cela, ils ont maintenu leur engagement d'échange . Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans leur maison très confortable. Et j'espère qu'ils pourront venir à Bourges un peu plus tard.

Kerstin, Uwe and Lena were a lovely family to exchange with. Their home was better than described and they left us plenty of information about the area. We felt very welcome and had a very good holiday there. Our home was spotless when we returned!

We passed wonderful holidays in Galway. Nice conversation with Tish and Eugene before and during the stay. We loved your garden and home which was well prepared. Good public transport to the city, peaceful atmosphere with good music :). We recommend

The family's home was exactly as described, in a wonderful location, and with everything ready for us. They left our home in immaculate condition when they left. We have no hesitation recommending this family and their wonderful home.

We are semi-retired and like travelling.  For our main Summer holiday we like to be somewhere we can walk/hike/cycle, especially near the Coast.  We enjoy city breaks all year round, particularly if there are opportunities to go to concerts and the theatre. If we can combine the coast with a city, then we are very happy!
We have family and friends all over the United Kingdom so we are always willing to do weekend exchanges, especially in London, Aberdeen, NW England (Wigan),and Belfast.
While our house and garden are very spacious for 2 people, we are happy to have something smaller for exchanges but a garden or balcony is always welcome.
We have had over 25 happy exchanges in Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Lanzarote and the Netherlands in very different kinds of houses/apartments in all sorts of locations.  We have loved them all.
We are easily pleased except for one thing...  We do not have pets and we do not provide pet care, ever!
