We live in a quiet village on biking distance of Ghent, http://www.gent.be. the website has an English , French and Dutch version.
You can also take a tram ( every 20 minutes) who takes you to the centre of Ghent, or to the railway station.
Ghent is one of the popular touristic places to visit in Europe, with its interesting museums, romantic canals, historical buildings and many more.  The city has a great range of restaurants, bars, cafés, chocolate- and beer shops, cinema, concert halls, etc..
By train or car you can visit other interesting and historical cities such as Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Brussels.
Hiking and cycling is very popular here, there are many easy and flat cycling trails. We have 3 adults city bikes available and 2 kids bikes for play.
Ghent is also close to the coastal cities (40 km), at the North sea that offer kite- and windsurfing, beach sailing, golf, casino's, fishing- and sailing ports. Along the coastline you can take the tram from the French border (De Panne) to the Dutch border (Knokke).
Other well-known destinations and cities like Paris, London, Amsterdam, Keulen (Köln) are easy reachable by fast trains : Eurostar, TGV, Thalys. (No parking and traffic problems).
 
Our national airport is Brussels Airport approx. 45 min by train from Ghent.

About our house...
Our house is a bungalow near a park. There is a private swimming pool (not heated) in the garden. The house is practical. We have a terrace and a nice, secluded garden and good neighbours.
Our house is located in a dead-end street where you have no traffic. You can shopping : butcher, bakery, a supermarket, flower shop  snack bars and a few restaurants 5-10 minutes walking.
