House in Emmen, in the north of The Netherlands
Our house consists of three layers. The kitchen and living room are at the ground floor. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and a closet. On the third floor, we have two more bedrooms.
Our house is situated at the southern edge of the city of Emmen, in a child-friendly neighbourhood. There is a small shopping centre at walking distance and several other shopping centre at bike distance or a ten minute car drive.
At walking distance, there is a medium sized recreational area where one can swim, bike and hike. Also, the city centre, including the train station of Emmen, is at a 25 minute cycling distance. The city of Amsterdam is two- three hours away form here. Also, the rest of the Netherlands is at reachable distance.

Our neighbourhood Parc Sandur is child-friendly and quiet and contains several playgrounds, one of which is next to our house. Furthermore, there is a golf course and a recreational center, where you can rent bikes and boats, play minigolf or do some bowling. There also is a nice swimming pool. All this within a five minute walking distance.
The population of our neighbourhood consist of a mixture of elderly people and young families. There's light traffic, but otherwise it's a silent neighbourhood.
In our province, Drenthe, nature is never far away. You can go and easily cycle or hike into forests and moors, due to the proximity of these areas. Our neighbourhood is situated next to a recreational area called Rietplas. Various activities can be undertaken on foot, bike or on the water.
Also, the city of Emmen is very lively and has a big theatre, several good restaurants and a nice zoo called Wildlands.

We hebben goed contact gehad met Marnick en Roosmarijn via de app en hebben hen persoonlijk ontmoet bij ons thuis, dat was een prettige ontmoeting. Het huis voldeed aan al onze verwachtingen, het is heerlijk ruim en modern, alles wat je nodig hebt is er. Het huis ligt in een mooie woonwijk en in de omgeving is een ruim aanbod voor iedereen. Leuke wandelroutes, stad bezoek Emmen, zwemmen in de zomer, kortom genoeg te beleven. En vergeet vooral niet de lieve katjes die er wonen, zij genieten van alle aandacht en knuffels.
Ruil zoals verwacht. Erg fijn contact gehad, vooraf en ook tijdens de ruil. Fijn huis, fijne mensen.

We are a couple of 31 and 32 years old. We have 2 daughters namend Loïs and Lily. Loïs is 3 years old and Lily is a baby (born in may). We have 3 cats, 2 rabbits and a fish. Roosmarijn is an educational policy advisor at the township of Emmen, Marnick is a legal advisor at the township of Emmen.
Roosmarijn has had multiple experiences with home exchanges via Intervac. Her parents have done this a lot, that's why we're putting our house on Intervac for a home exchange. It's good fun!
