Paradise for nature lovers
This is our second home, where my husband grew up. We have kept is as we love the area. All stress disappears when we
go there. We go to bed hearing the sound of a barn owl and wake up with the view of trees in the forest. Even though it is a second home it is equipped as a permanent home and we spend a lot of time there.
The house was built 1970 and is about 200 m2 divided on two floors. On the groundfloor you find master bedroom,
a bedroom with a single bed, a study, a kitchen, a big living room and also a bathroom with a bathtub.
From the livingroom and master bedroom you go straight out to a terrace where you can enjoy sun most of the day
and the long Swedish summer evenings
In the basement there are two bedrooms; one with a with single bed and the other with two single beds, a livingroom with a fireplace, a laundry, store rooms, a toilet and a shower.
.
The garden is about 1500 m2 and the house is on top of a hill with view over the village and with forest behind.
We have no wifi or tv in the house. Instead time to read books, listen to music (many cds), play boardgames and spend time outdoors.
You are also welcome to our permanent home SE48632.

Neighborhood
About the neighborhood
What we like most about the area is the closeness to nature. Only a couple of minutes to a forest with tracks for
jogging, endless possiblities for hiking, picking blueberries, lingonberries and mushrooms or with some luck you might
see roe deer, elks, foxes and many different birds.
The area of Småland is known for a vast amount of lakes. There are many possiblities to swim in fresh water. The
nearest beach is 5 min by car.
In Vena there is a petrol station, a church and school. There is also a narrow-gauge railway between Hultsfred
and Västervik and during the summer the small train stops in Vena.
Hultsfred is 10 km away and there are supermarkets, library and indoor swimmingpool
From Hultsfred you can go on a 12 km ride with a handcar on the narrow gauge railroad which is fun. Bring your
picnic and stop for a swim at Hesjön.

In Målilla, 20 km, you can come close to elks at Målilla moose farm.

In Målilla there is also a possibility to watch speedway.

Further away, 20 km, is Vimmerby. Known for Astrid Lindgren World. Astrid Lindgren was a well known author writing
books for children like Pippi Longstocking. Almost all Swedish families go there at least once on holiday.

Even further away at the Baltic sea, about 1 h by car, is the lovely town of Västervik and 1,5 h away is the town
of Kalmar with a mediveal castle and a 6 km bridge to the island Öland.
If you like fishing, like our oldest son, there are many lakes where you can go fishing for pike and pearch if
you buy a permit.
You won't lack things to do, but you will also have the possibility to relax and breathe fresh air.
Nearest Airport: Stockholm/Arlanda or Copenhagen both 4,5h, Linkoping by KLM 1,5h

Nowadays we travel just the two of us, but it happens that one or two sons join us or another couple.
We are a non-smoking family.
