Townhouse near water and harbour
Our town house has three stories and is 150 square meters. It was built in 2018, so it is modern and in perfect condition. The house has four bedrooms, one with a 180 cm bed and two with 120 cm beds. There is also a comfortable sofa bed in the office, suitable for two people.
We have a small garden with a glass room, a conservatory. The house also has a large sun terrace on the third floor, where we spend most of our summer evenings watching the sun set. It is 200 meters to the sea, but you can not go swimming there. There is a boat dock and a beautiful walk along the water to the harbour, where there are restaurants and cafés open in the summer. If you want to go swimming you can find cliffs and beaches nearby, but you need a car to get there.

We are invited to a wedding in Los Angeles on August 1st 2026, and we are interested in an exchange somewhere in California, USA for up to two weeks, since we are planning to explore the state while we are there. Preferably the LA area, but we are open for other places as well. We are travelling with our two daughters and their boyfriends, so we need a house/apartment with six beds. |

About the neighborhood
Nyköping is a town by the coast one hour south of Stockholm. Our house is 200 meters from the water, but you can not swim there. You can take a nice stroll along the waterfront to the harbour, where there are many restaurants and cafés during the summer. You walk to the center of town in 20 minutes. We have a medieval castle in Nyköping, with a museum and theatre shows in the summer.
Nyköping is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the capital but not in the the middle of the hustle and bustle. Nyköping has it's own airport, Skavsta, which makes it convenient if you prefer to fly. You can also get here easily by bus or train, and the train to Stockholm takes 60 minutes.
If you have children, the famous zoo Kolmården is 40 minutes away. Older kids will love Boda Borg, a questing experience where the whole family tries to solve problems together. Boda Borg is 20 minutes away. Trosa, the picturesque small town where the German show Inga Lidström was filmed, is 35 minutes away by car.
Nyköping is by the water, and if you come here you should definitely explore the archipelago. There are tour boats from Oxelösund that can take you to the islands, but many beautiful cliffs and beaches can also be reached by car. You can rent canoes close to our house. If you like hiking, the trail "Sörmlandsleden" of 1000 km passes through here.

Katriina and Pekka were easy to get along with, well organized and friendly. We felt safe letting them stay in our house, and they left it as tidy as it was when they arrived. Their house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. A big plus for letting us use their boat for fishing, and that we could bring our dog! We liked the public beach and sauna in Kaarina, and Åbo is a nice town. All in all, a nice stay in Finland!
I am pleased to provide a positive reference for this exchange. The experience was exellent in every way and the house was nice and practical. Their communication before and during the exchange was clear and friendly. They took care of our home and belongings, leaving everything tidy and upon our return, we found everything in perfect condition. We are Johan and Nina, a couple with two adult daughters who sometimes travel with us, but mostly we are looking for an exchange for only the two of us. Johan is a a purchaser at a company that supplies hydraulic solutions for the industry, and Nina is a former teacher who now arranges courses and conferences for teachers. We love nature, and spend a lot of our holidays on boats, on beaches, in mountains or in the forest. We also enjoy visiting cities, especially now that we don't have any small children. We like to work out together, which is good since we also enjoy food and wine a lot!
We have made three exchanges through Intervac before, but only one with our current house.
