Aarhus C, Denmark

We live in a apartment in the upper two stories of a house, that is four stories high and it is located in one of the most attractive parts of Aarhus. It is situated in the very centre of the town within a few hundred meters from the railway station, museums, city hall, shopping centre and main pedestrian area.
One of the nearby museums is the famous ARoS. (en.aros.dk)
 
Despite the central position, the neighbourhood is very quiet.
 
If you like to eat well, this is THE place. During the past ten years our neighbourhood has become almost crowded with a very wide selection of shops selling different kinds of food-stuff.  E.g. within 100 meters we have five bakeries, each with their special selection of bread and cookies.
Each Wednesday and Saturday there is a market a few hundreds meter from our house. Here you can buy fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, cheese and flowers.

If you prefer to eat out, there are a rich variety of café’s, restaurants and take-away nearby.
 
Aarhus is a very charming town with a lot of nice walks and sights.
 
If you are more into active life, you only have to go 1 km south to reach the sea and the beginning of a 20 km recreational area along the coast with beaches and the typical, beautiful Danish beech forest. 
A paradise for running, biking and walking.
You even can challenge the steep hillsides riding mountain bikes on specially prepared trails in the forest.
 
We have two cats and would like very much, if you would take care of them. It is possible to leave them for up to three days. In case this is a problem and YOU are our favourite exchange-partner, it is possible for us to make arrangements with a kennel, though.

Earlier, when our children were small, we often made exchanges in Germany and Netherlands. In 2013 we made an exchange with #FR110964 in Tours, France.
